USITT’s 2017 Expo floor is unlike any you’ve seen before. Forget rows and rows of booths that all begin to look alike. We’re bringing you the best of the best in exhibitors, new products, and technical production expertise.
The Tech Expo (booth #100) will feature creative solutions to production problems. This exhibit will highlight the work of technicians from all areas of production including sound, rigging, costume, crafts, properties, mask making, lighting technology, stagecraft, and special effects. The articles describing, in detail, the products and processes used to develop the ideas are assembled into a catalog which will be available for purchase at the Conference bookstore, online at usitt.org, and through the USITT Office.
All of that walking around can force your feet to find a place to rest, and this year we’ve provided just the spot!
The “not so central park” space located in the back of the 2200 aisle on the Expo floor is new to USITT for 2017. This large green turf space in the middle of the Expo floor is a great place to gather for networking, interviewing, or talking with new and old friends. Street lights and park benches will be peppered throughout surrounded by outdoor scene backdrops provided by Grosh, TheatreWorld and Backdrops Beautiful. If thirst kicks in, look no further than a few feet for the coffee cart on hand at the park.
This area is perfect for those who are spending a dedicated day or two at the Expo. This allows you to relax and take everything in. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the scenery.
The Innovation Stage on the Expo floor has conference sessions, 20-minute innovative product demonstrations and the eSET Quiz Bowl! The Quiz Bowl, sponsored by Rose Brand, is open to students and young professionals in the industry. The competition will focus on Rigging, Electrics and Costuming.
