The Event Safety Alliance will present several sessions at USITT this year.
On March 14 at the Outdoor Stage, ESA Vice President Steven A. Adelman will discuss severe weather planning and preparedness. ESA will then join a panel of experts discussing engineering and operational issues, including crowd management issues that can arise during emergency egress.
The next day, ESA will join a panel trying to put active shooter incidents in context. Finally, Adelman will introduce how one creates a reasonable emergency action plan.
These sessions address just a few of the myriad issues that event and venue professionals must learn to consider providing reasonable protection to their patrons, artists, and colleagues. Through its own conferences and training materials as well as its participation in programs like USITT, the Event Safety Alliance works to raise industry safety standards and create a culture that puts life and safety first.
