As 2019 draws to a close, I am taking the opportunity to reflect on the past year and consider my resolutions for 2020. What brought me happiness? Where did I focus my energy? And where were my greatest struggles?
My service to USITT continues to be a source of great happiness and pride. I hope that 2020 brings a successful end to our Setting the Next Stage Campaign which will set our course for the next decade. And I will strive to improve and expand the Institute’s educational opportunities and EDI initiatives which are vital for our future growth.
This past year was not without challenges. Time spent on work and career can be satisfying but achieving a healthy work/life balance is a struggle. Many in our industry face the challenges of hard deadlines, long hours and non-traditional work schedules. Prioritizing time for family, friends, and play is vital to our health and well being. I resolve to refocus my energies in 2020 and invite more play into my life.
To welcome the new decade, take time to reflect, refocus and recharge. Life is short. Make the most of it. I wish everyone a joyful holiday season and all happiness in 2020!
