As technical theatre students and professionals, everything you do is hands-on. At USITT 2017, you’ll be able to get your hands on the latest and greatest products for yourself.
At the Costume Studio, designers can test out 25 of the most advanced sewing machines available today from industry leaders BERNINA and Baby Lock. The opportunity to use and compare these elite professional products side by side can be found nowhere else in America but here! Experts from the manufacturers will be walking around available to answer questions and give you suggestions.
In the studio, you’ll be able to complete a project you began in one of the conference sessions; or participate in our community projects creating fleece caps for premature babies at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, blankets for patients of the St. Louis Cancer and Breast Institute or a quilt square for Broadway Cares. There is no additional registration required for the Costume Studio.
The Console Demo Area will give attendees the opportunity to learn directly from the manufacturers of industry standard lighting and sound consoles. In one hour+ sessions, you’ll get a focused look inside the technologies and take home some new tips and skills. The time allotted will give you enough time to whet your appetite, but still allow you plenty of opportunity to take in sessions and all that USITT offers.
