Joseph Haj, artistic director of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, was previously scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 2018 USITT Conference. As the Guthrie continues to focus attention internally on issues specific to workplace culture, Haj remains deeply committed to and engaged in internal dialogue and actions, and his schedule has changed in support of that ongoing priority.
We want to thank Joseph for his willingness to speak and hope to have him in the future. We are excited to share that Wendall K. Harrington, dubbed the “godmother of projection design,” will be stepping in to give the keynote speech at USITT 2018. Wendall won the DAA Award in Education in 2015.
Wendall lectures widely on the art of projection design and is the head of the MFA program in Projection Design at the Yale School of Drama. Wendall’s career has taken on differing disciplines, including theatre, publishing, and multi-image/video design and production. Along with her astounding list of credits in theatre, ballet, projection design, opera, and multi-image/video field, she is founder of Luminous Productions, Inc. and has been the recipient of numerous theatrical awards.
Join us for the opening keynote Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
