By: Paul Brunner, USITT Secretary

USITT operates with a dedicated staff in Liverpool, NY, working each day to connect our members with opportunities. As Secretary on USITT’s Board of Directors, I am fortunate to work closely with the staff to ensure they are well supported. I want to take this moment to thank them for their work in helping the hundreds of USITT volunteers who keep this organization vibrant.

USITT’s staff rely on a large pool of passionate volunteers dedicated to the success of the organization. Volunteers support the countless activities at the Annual Conference & Stage Expo as well as Jay O. Glerum Rigging Masterclasses, Elite Training, LiNK, Costume Symposium, the new Digital Media Symposium, regional events, and the many other activities that occur year-round. In every way, our volunteers connect our members with opportunities for training, education, jobs, networking, schools, and business. USITT would simply not be what it is today without our many volunteers.

Volunteers are most often associated with a committee. USITT’s committee chairpersons and members are reviewed annually by the Board of Directors to ensure conformance with our policies and broad inclusive representation. If you, or someone you know, is interested in participating in USITT, please consider volunteering for a committee as an excellent way to make use of your talents and expand your professional network. Those interested should contact me at pjbrunner1@gmail.com, indicating your interest. I’ll forward your name to the appropriate committee(s) to be considered. A list of USITT’s standing committees can be found here.
