From October 14-16 the Ohio Valley Section (OVS) of USITT and Capital University sponsored Cirque du Soleil’s Entertainment Technology Conference. The conference drew 400 attendees for classes in automation, Rigging, Audio, Lighting, Projections, Carpentry & Props, Stage Management, and Wardrobe, Makeup & Wigs.
Since its founding in 1976, the OVS has hosted regional conferences which offer opportunities to exchange new ideas and network with fellow professionals. Two staff members from the National Office were in attendance to show support for the Ohio Valley section and Cirque du Soleil, and speak with students and attendees.
Cirque du Soleil is considered a dream job for a lot of students within the technical theatre side of entertainment so being able to talk with Cirque employees and ask questions was a real treat.
